a lil’ about me

I received a BA in art, math, and secondary education from Taylor University. The 4 years of teaching high school art and coaching cross-country and track were wonderful. I left teaching to follow my husband’s career. We thrived… moving and having a baby boy every 3 years put my teaching on hold. I started creating murals in 1992 and began a business full time in 2000. Today’s focus is on my gift of design, use of space, and years of experience in problem-solving. Custom murals and canvas work are still vital and now can be incorporated into the project as a whole.

Landscape

I see and feel things differently, as I was raised on 20 acres of woods with a large pond and barns filled with 4-H animals.  The brick home my parents designed and built took me any place my imagination romped. Hiking in our woods and studying the trees, roots, and the various shapes made by the tree canopies was part of my weekly adventure. Sitting on our dock gave me the solitude I yearned for and still require today. Country living cultivated curiosity in me and will always be a part of who I am.

Florals

I have a deep appreciation for florals and how things grow. As I work in my gardens today, I recognize colors, sounds, and textures, and transfer them to my artwork. My floral and tree paintings are still the favorite of my loyal clients and friends.

Seascapes
My seascapes are all unique in color and movement. Some days the waves are crashing down all around us, while other days calm waters are revealed; both reflect different seasons of life and are important. Sands dunes blow and shift while the delicate-looking seagrasses sustain fierce winds and storms. These represent the delicate balance of grace and strength in life. Collecting my seascape paintings will allow you to experience a reminder of a balanced life.
